چکیده

Since the rechargeable Li-ion battery was invented in early 1990s, its performance has evolved continually and batteries are now installed most mobile devices. In these batteries, graphite is used as a negative electrode material. However, detailed reaction mechanism between Li remains unclear. Here we apply synchrotron X-ray diffraction, 7 Li-nuclear magnetic resonance Raman spectroscopy to operando analysis of charge/discharge electrode. The spectrum measured repeatedly during reaction. dataset obtained then analyzed synchronously with composition x LiC estimated from curves. We propose synchronized method that provides useful information about behavior C–C bond vibration mode interactions carbon atoms due structural change addition, determine details intercalation mechanism.

Titania and Cu-Titania Composite Layer on Graphite Substrate as Negative Electrode for Li-Ion Battery

This research study the application of the immobilized TiO2 layer and Cu-TiO2 layer on graphite substrate as a negative electrode or anode for Li-ion battery. The titania layer was produced through chemical bath deposition method, meanwhile Cu particles were deposited electrochemically. A material can be used as an electrode as it has capability to intercalates Li ions into its crystal structur...

Modelling Li Ion Battery Electrode Properties

In recent years, interest in using lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries as power sources for a wide range of devices (particularly portable devices) has grown significantly. There is thus a real need to understand at a fundamental level a wide range of battery performance criteria (energy density, power density, safety, durability, cost). Our working group considered how to model the fundamental elec...

THERMAL STABILITY STUDIES OF LI-ION CELL NEGATIVE ELECTRODE MATERIALS: GRAPHITE, MCMB, HARD-CARBON AND InSb

A Li-ion cell typically consists of a carbon-based negative electrode (NE); a porous polymer membrane separator (polypropylene and/or polyethylene); and a lithiated transition metal oxide (LiMxOy, M=Co, Ni, and/or Mn) positive electrode (PE). Electrodes are made by casting slurries of PE or NE-materials, PVDF-binder and carbon-black onto metal current collectors. Mixtures of Li-salts and organi...

Evaluation of Carbon-Coated Graphite as a Negative Electrode Material for Li-Ion Batteries

Low-cost and environmentally-friendly materials are investigated as carbon-coating precursors to modify the surface of commercial graphite for Li-ion battery anodes. The coating procedure and final carbon content are tuned to study the influence of the precursors on the electrochemical performance of graphite. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Brunauer– Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area analy...

Palladium-microencapsulated graphite as the negative electrode in Li-ion cells

A Pd-encapsulated graphite electrode was used as the negative electrode in Li-ion cells. Through dispersion of ultrafine nanoparticles of palladium on the surface of graphite, the interfacial properties of the carbon surface were modified. The presence of the palladium Ž . dramatically reduces the initial irreversible capacity of the graphite in propylene carbonate PC -based electrolyte. Pallad...
